People have asked me recently about use by dates on cream well when I was young we never had use by dates my parents smelt it, tasted a little if ok used it. Use by date are manufactures ways of making us buy and waste more. They even put them on herbs and spices which are nature’s preservatives, go figure.

Use your common sense but with cream if it’s starting to turn cook with it, what do you think sour cream was originally.

The same can be said for other foods as the saying goes If It Looks Right, Smells Right, Tastes Right It Is Right.

The other thing they put use by dates on is honey… really… they found pots of honey in the pyramids in Egypt that they ate… thousands of years old… yet manufacturers today think it should have a use by… mental!!
