BABYSITTING BAKING

Today I have been looking after my great niece and we decided to bake… here’s the result. We used a food processor but you can mix these easily by hand. I didn’t have any confectioners sweetener so I improvised with the frosting. Within an hour 4 were gone… oops! Coconut Flour Paleo Cupcakes Recipe Ingredients:…

FASTING… GOOD OR BAD?

What’s your opinion on fasting… I’m not sure about it. I can see the benefits of cleansing your body but surely missing your nutrients and macros isn’t good for you. What’s your opinion, what’s your experience of it? I’m asking because I have considered doing it but am unsure of the benefits or pitfalls.

I NO LONGER MISS GARLIC BREAD

I really used to like garlic bread but these are a great substitute. I like to eat them warm so they are gooey and the cheese is stretchy. GARLIC CHEESY MUFFINS  Recipe PDF 125ml/1/2 cup Greek yogurt 4 large eggs 4-5 cloves garlic, pressed or finely minced, divided, depending how garlicky you want them 1…

ANOTHER CLASSIC

With Autumn and winter fast approaching it becomes time for my favourite comfort food… stews and casseroles. I used to love coming home from school and the whole house being filled with the smell of whichever one my mother had been cooking for hours. This is another bit of classic French cooking, and French peasant…

CLASSIC SALMON DISH

This is a classic recipe but a great one. I love opening the parcels and getting hit by the aroma. This way of cooking fish tends to keep it soft and moist. When teaching my pupils loved doing this and for a few it was the first time they’d eaten fish let alone cooked it….

IMPRESSIVE BREAKFAST

They are not LCHF and in fact are quite derisory about it, saying it can’t taste as good without carbs and our diet must be boring. This really fits the bill. The original recipe contained flour and sugar which I have…

GREAT LIGHT LUNCH

Halloumi or squeaky cheese as my partner calls it is a Greek/Turkish/Cypriot cheese that is served cooked and warm. It cuts easily into slices but can also be cubed and used on kebabs. It is a semi-hard, unripened, brined cheese made from a mixture of goat’s and sheep’s milk, and sometimes also cow’s milk. It…

THE SPARK OF AN IDEA HAS RISEN FROM THIS

My parents used to love this cake and would always have a slice with their coffee when out shopping. I adapted this at first purely for nostalgic reasons, bringing back memories, but then I started thinking about doing a menu for a traditional British afternoon high tea, something my parents loved, and this…

BREAKFAST ON THE GO BARS

Often my partner and I have to leave early to get to work and sometimes don’t get the opportunity to eat breakfast. When that is the case we grab one of these. They are also good for packed lunches, be warned a lot of UK schools won’t allow these as they contain nuts. INGREDIENTS •…
